Destiny D. Riddle

Destiny D. Riddle, 52, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the First Christian Church. Family will meet with friends following the service. Destiny was born Thursday, December 19, 1963, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Denis and Kathryn (Anderson) Schlotzhauer. She was a longtime resident of Centropolis and Ottawa. She graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1982 and continued her education at DeVry University, Kansas City, Missouri. Destiny was united in marriage with Tony Bass September 15, 1992, in Ottawa. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her three children, Arran Richardson and fiancé Bae of Ottawa, Ean Schlotzhauer of Temple, Texas, and Corey Schlotzhauer of Ottawa; parents, Denis and Kathryn Schlotzhauer of Ottawa; two brothers, Darin Schlotzhauer and wife Shawna of Ottawa and Kurt Schlotzhauer of Lawrence; and nine grandchildren. She was employed as a traffic clerk for Wal-Mart Distribution Center and was recognized in October, 2015, for twenty years of service. Destiny previously worked for Our Own Hardware as order filler, Ottawa Public Schools USD 290 as a paraprofessional, Casey’s General Store as a clerk, and Deluxe Checks in Olathe. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Destiny was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed riding horses, traveling and shopping.
