David Lee “Buck” Zimmerman was born in Osawatomie, Kansas on Monday, January 3, 1910 to David Morton and Margaret Eleanor (Delavan) Zimmerman. Buck was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, and made his home in Pomona until his death at his farm on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 21 days. Mr. Zimmerman attended North Illinois Grade School in rural Franklin County and graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1928. He was self-employed as a farmer and carpenter. Buck was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a former member of the Amateur Radio Club. Buck is survived by a nephew, Larry Buxton, of Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Morton and Margaret Eleanor (Delavan) Zimmerman; a brother, Frank Edward Zimmerman; half brother, Dillon Foster Zimmerman; an infant half brother, John William Zimmerman; four sisters, Charlotte Bell “Lottie” Jessup, Winifred M. Bonsal, Myrtle May Hughes, and Ethel Yockey. SERVICES: Mr. Zimmerman was cremated. Celebration of life services will be held from the Greenwood Baptist Church 1:00p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009. CEMETERY: Private inurnment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
