David Dewayne Doty

David Dewayne Doty, 65, of Quenemo, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.

David was born Friday, May 29, 1959, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Jay Lyle and Lois Edith (Mollett) Doty.

He was a lifelong Quenemo, Kansas resident.

David worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, gardening, and golfing. David especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Jay and Lois; brother Butch Lyle Doty; and sister Brenda Hernandez.

Survivors include his significant other Dorothy Coon of the home; son Derrick Doty (Kelsey) of Manhattan, Kansas; step-son Josh Drum (Rose) of Osage City; brothers Kevin Doty (Teresa) of Pomona, Kansas and Eric Doty (Casey) of Pella, Iowa; sisters Lois C. StandingCloud of Garnett, Kansas, Katherine Watkins (Raymond) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Karla Doty; along with five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
