Daryl E. Trendel

Daryl E. Trendel, was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1951 in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of George “Ed” and Bertha (Gates) Trendel. He grew up in the Michigan Valley area, moving to Pomona, Kansas, where he lived for over forty years, until his death at home on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the age of fifty-eight years. Daryl attended grade school at Appanoose and graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1969. He worked at Hallmark Cards, in Lawrence, Kansas from 1969 until the time of his death. Daryl loved spending time with family and friends. His interests included gardening, woodworking and collecting knives. He cherished the time he spent playing with his granddaughter, Ella. On July 22, 1969, Daryl was united in marriage with Ruth Ecord in Lyndon, Kansas. She survives of their home. Daryl is also survived by his mother, Bertha Trendel of Pomona, Kansas; three sons: Mike Trendel and his wife, Kristin, of Lawrence, Kansas; Lucas Trendel and his fiancé, Nicole, of Olathe, Kansas and Kevin Trendel of Hurst, Texas a granddaughter, Ella Trendel and many niece’s and nephew’s. He is preceded in death by his father, George “Ed” Trendel, a brother, Raymond Trendel and a twin brother, Doug Trendel. SERVICES: Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at Woodlawn, Cemetery in Pomona, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010. IN STATE: Mr. Trendel was cremated. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday evening at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. CEMETERY: Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
