Darin Ross Leecy

Darin Ross Leecy, 64, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held 12:00pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa, Kansas.

Darin was born Wednesday, July 6, 1960, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Wally and Gloria (Morrow) Leecy.

He lived most of his life in Ottawa, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1978.

Darin was united in marriage on July 6, 2024 in Ottawa, Kansas to Penny (Shaffer) New. She survives of the home.

He worked in aircraft recovery for Dodson Aviation for the last eight years and was also employed with Sprint Warehousing in Gardner, Kansas for eighteen years.

Darin was a member of the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa.

He liked bar-b-que, feeding his family and cooking. Darin also enjoyed working on cars, but he especially loved his family and grandchildren.

Darin was preceded in death by his parents Wally and Gloria; infant brother Dvan Leecy; and nephew Dustin Leecy.

Along with this wife Penny, survivors include sons Matt Leecy of Tampa Florida, Lane Leecy of Ottawa, Kansas, and Seth Leecy (Alex) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters Denise Manley (James) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Darlla Wood (Brett) of Fenton, Missouri; brother Dana Leecy (Sue) of Ottawa, Kansas; and five grandchildren.
