Cristal Michelle Howey

Cristal Michelle "Sissy" Howey (Headrick) passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 51 in Garnett, Kansas. She was born on February 23, 1973, in Durango, Colorado. She lived in the Garnett area for many years. Cristal, known for her infectious smile and big personality, was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Despite facing hardships in life, she showed immense strength and resilience.

Cristal graduated from Anderson County High School with the class of 1991. She then pursued a career as a Certified Nurses Aid and was passionate about helping others. In her free time, she showcased her artistic talents through crafting. She was known for her creativity and love for art.

Cristal was united in marriage to John Howey.

She is survived by her mother Marie Headrick of Wellsville, son Justin Headrick of Gardner, grandson Daniel Headrick, sister Jennifer Mitchell (Steven) of Wellsville, sister Sandra Johnson (Dustin) of Garnett, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cristal was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Cremation is planned and then a memorial service in honor of Cristal will be held at the home of her sister, Jennifer, located at 2290 N 200th Rd Wellsville, Kansas, on March 23rd at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family directly. Dengel & Son in Ottawa, Kansas, is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
