Clyde Nickell

Clyde Robert "Bob" Nickell, age 86, of Louisburg, KS, formerly of LaCygne, KS, died July 28, 2008, at Louisburg Care Center. Bob was born April 26, 2008, in Arcadia, KS, the son of Walter and Stella Smart Nickell. He was united in marriage to Velda Dean Black on January 12, 1947 in Fort Scott, KS. Bob owned and operated the LaCygne Lumber Yard before retiring and then worked at the LaCygne City Park as groundskeeper. He was a member of the LaCygne United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Art, Jack, and Jim Nickell. Survivors include his wife Velda Nickell, 2 daughters, Connie Miller & husband Steve, Omaha, NE; Carol Sullivan & husband Larry, Liberty, MO; 1 son, Daryl Nickell & wife Connie, Fontana, KS; sister, LaVeta Parker, Lee"s Summit, MO; and brother Doyl Nickell, Neodesha, KS. Grandchildren: Todd Miller & fianc" Lori Tuttle, St. Louis, MO; Lindsey Miller, Houston, TX; Rocky Williams & fianc" Kristen, New Hampshire; Kelly Williams, Tampa, FL; Payton Williams, LaCygne, KS; Colton, Mackenzie & Timmy Nickell, Fontana, KS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Prescott Cemetery, Prescott, KS. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2008, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Penwell " Gabel Louisburg Chapel. The family suggest memorials be given to LaCygne City Park, C/O LaCygne City Hall, LaCygne, KS 66040.
