Christopher Leroy Paxton

Christopher Leroy Paxton, 47, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at The University of Kansas Health System, Kansas City, Kansas.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Christopher was born Thursday, December 30, 1976, in North Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Gary Hiner and Kathy (Vokolek) Paxton.

He lived in Pomona, Kansas since 2018 moving there from the Gardner/Spring Hill area.

Christopher was employed at HomeBase in Ottawa for one year working as a sales clerk. Prior to HomeBase, he was self-employed for ten years doing heating and air conditioning repairs. Christopher also worked for Hostess in Edgerton, Kansas as a forklift driver for ten years.

He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. Christopher especially loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Christopher was preceded in death by his dad Omer Paxton.

Survivors include fiancé Tabitha Powers of the home; father Gary Hiner (Debra) of Ottawa, Kansas; mother Kathy Paxton of Branson, Missouri; five children Austin Powers (Amanda) of Perry, Kansas, Chelsee Powers (John Madison) of Lansing, Kansas, Breanna Drumna (Colt) of Stillwell, Oklahoma, Madison Culter (Rayanna) of Pomona, Kansas, and Damon Culter (Nova) also of Pomona, Kansas; brothers Rick Paxton of Branson, Missouri, Christopher L. Hiner (Kristen) of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Charles Hiner (Angela) of Gardner, Kansas; sisters Stephanie Machado of Branson, Missouri, and Shirley Hepner (Tim) of Gardner, Kansas; five grandchildren Emma Drumm, Zana Drumm, Olivia Culter, Atticus Powers, and Tristan Powers; along with twelve nieces and nephews.
