Cheryl Ann Reynolds

Cheryl Ann Reynolds, 72, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at her home. Cheryl was born Wednesday, July 7, 1948, in Emporia, KS, the older of two daughters born to LeRoy and Maxine (Clymer) Edmunds. She graduated from Council Grove High School in 1966. She then attended Emporia State University and earned her Bachelor's Degree in business in 1969. After graduation, she married Charles Peterson in 1969 and moved to Denver, Colorado. The marriage ended in divorce. Cheryl was married to Bill Reynolds in Denver, Colorado in 1981. Cheryl was transferred to Milwaulkee with her job in 1996. She moved to Paola in July 2009 to take care of her father whose health was failing. He passed away in 2011. Most of her life, she worked in freight logistics and had been employed with ANR, Santa Fe Trail, and Ringsby. She most recently worked as a secretary for the Miami County Conservation District from 2016 until retiring at the end of May 2021. She received her single engine pilot's license in the 1970s. Her pilot's license was recreational. She mainly flew from Denver to Emporia and back. She was a member of the Miami County Frontier Twirlers square dancing club and soon after joining became the club's president. She loved crocheting, knitting, growing flowers, gardening, canning, and baking. She entered many exhibits in the Miami, Linn, and Johnson County Fairs over the years and took home many ribbons. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill Reynolds. Survivors include her sister Sheri Scheffer (Ed) of Paola; her aunt Pauline Tally of Paola; nephew Jason and his sons Austin and Aiden; nephew Nick Scheffer and his children Blake and Stella all of Paola. Cheryl babysat all four of her great nephews and great niece, loving and caring for them like the children she never had. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Paola Senior Center, 121 W. Wea, Paola, KS on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Refreshments will be provided. A second Celebration of Life memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Community Christian Church, 18 McCardell St., Council Grove, KS on Sunday, June 27, 2021. Refreshments will be provided. Please bring pictures and/or stories to share to celebrate Cheryl's life. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, KS.
