Charlotte Mary Newkirk, 68, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am., Thursday, March 7, 2024, Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
Inurnment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
Charlotte was born Tuesday, September 27, 1955, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Donald and Arleen (Shrum) Allis.
She was a lifelong Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1973.
Charlotte was united in marriage on April 17, 1998, in Ottawa to Frank Newkirk. He survives of the home.
She was employed with the City of Ottawa as the administrative assistant in the planning and zoning department for twenty-eight years before retiring in 2021.
Charlotte enjoyed painting statues, crocheting, and traveling. She liked to attend auctions, flea markets and hunt for bargains at garage sales. Charlotte loved her pet boxer dogs, Daisy and Brutus, but especially loved her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Donald and Arleen and brother Mike Allis.
Along with her husband Frank, survivors include sons Jerime Stone (Christine Oldberg) of Lenexa, Kansas, Jeffrey Stone of Lawrence, Kansas, and Brett Newkirk of Ottawa, Kansas; daughter Melissa Powell (Tony) of Ottawa, Kansas; aunt Carol Demaranville also of Ottawa, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
