Charles E. "Eddie" Underwood

Charles E. Eddie Underwood, Jr., age 59, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. He was born on Monday, November 5, 1951, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Charles Edward Underwood, Sr. and Marilyn Mae (Bush) Underwood. He was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident. Eddie graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1969. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. In August of 1972, Eddie was united in marriage with Nina Adams. To this union, two children, Mark and Therese, were born. They were later divorced. Eddie was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed fishing and water skiing. He is survived by his: Mother-Marilyn Underwood of Ottawa, Kansas;Daughter-Therese Underwood Rogers and her husband, Paul, of Malawi, South Africa; Son-Mark Underwood and his wife, Jenifer, of Carlsbad, California; Sister-Marsha Thornton of Indianapolis, Indiana; Sister-Esther Underwood of Hawaii; Sister-Diana “Kay” Underwood of Southern California; Brother-Lynn Underwood of Ottawa, Kansas and Grandson-Levi Underwood of Carlsbad, California. Eddie was preceeded in death by his Father-Charles Edward Underwood, Sr. SERVICES: Mr. Underwood was cremated. Private family services was held. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Eddie Underwood, Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067. Proceeds from this memorial fund will go towards Eddie’s grandson’s college education.
