Ozie Charldean Lasher, 92, of Olathe, formerly of Independence, Missouri passed away November 17, 2013 at Pinnacle Ridge Nursing Home. Charldean was born on January 27, 1921 in Durham, Arkansas to Eddie Guy and Samantha Jane (Stout) Carter. On August 27, 1938 she was united in marriage to Lloyd "Smoky" Lasher in Olathe, Kansas. They made their home in Lone Jack, Missouri where she raised her two boys who were the joy of her life. Later they moved to Independence, Missouri where she was employed at the Midwest Chemical Pumps for many years as a shop foreman. Charldean enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, feeding the animals, cooking, and sewing. She would also make clothes for the dolls the Salvation Army would give away during the holidays. She never met a stranger and was always willing to engage in a conversation. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Lane, sister Betty, and brother Leonard. She is survived by her son Gary and wife Carolyn Lasher of Paola KS, brother Dan Epperly of Fayetteville, AR, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
