Betty Jean Heckman

Betty Jean (Atchison) Heckman, age 62, of Ottawa, Kansas., died Monday, December 30, 2002, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of the late Homer Atchison and the late Faye Atchison. she was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, living in Williamsburg, Pomona, and Ottawa. Betty graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1958. She attended Clark Business School in Topeka for two years. She was a Franklin County District Court Clerk for the State of Kansas for sixteen years. She had previously worked for the Kansas State Bank of Ottawa, Citizens Bank of Pomona, and American Cellulose, formerly of Ottawa. On May 28, 1971, Betty was united in marriage with Delaine Heckman. He survives of their home. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Clyde Greisen. IN STATE: Mrs. Heckman will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening.
