Allen William Ewalt, age 95, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Vintage Park of Louisburg.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Louisburg Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Louisburg VFW post 7348 and American Legion post 250.
Following the graveside service, there will be a gathering at the Louisburg Senior Center, 504 S Metcalf Road, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
Allen was born on December 1, 1928, in Ekalaka, Montana. He was the second of three children to Allan LeRoy and Helen Lorraine (Hope) Ewalt.
Allen enlisted in the United States Navy on March 18, 1946. He was honorably discharged on January 2, 1948, with the rank of Seamen Second Class.
Allen was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jeanette Drury on May 25, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 28, 1991.
In 1970, Allen opened Diesel Automotive, in Louisburg Kansas. He was the owner/operator for many years. Allen finished his working career as a rural mail carrier for the Louisburg Post Office.
He enjoyed being a mechanic and taking care of his farm.
Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Ewalt; daughter, Susan Ewalt; sister, Julia Wallace; one infant brother; and parents, Allan and Helen Ewalt.
He is survived by his four children, Sonny (Mary) Ewalt, Jody Ewalt (Larry), Bruce (Kathy) Ewalt, and Wendy (Gary Allen); seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as many extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to American Legion Post 250 or Miami County Fair Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
