Alice A. Piezuch

Alice Ann Piezuch, 82, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Saturday October 5, 2019, at ComfortCare Homes of KC, Overland Park, Kansas. A Funeral Mass will be held later at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church in Japan, Missouri, with inurnment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Owensville, Missouri. Alice was born April 19, 1937 in Jennings, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Cora (Scott) Brendel. She graduated from Sullivan High School, Sullivan Missouri, with the class of 1955 and attended 1 year of college at South East Missouri State in Cape Girardeau. Alice was united in marriage to Richard Piezuch December 29, 1956 in Japan, Missouri. Alice lived in Overland Park, Kansas for many years and in the Hilldale Lake Community for the last 24 years. Survivors include her husband Richard, three children: Theresa Hatfield of Centreville, VA, Joe Piezuch of Lenexa, KS and Stan Piezuch of Overland Park, KS; her brother Hank Brendel of Pleasant Hill, CA; and her 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Janice, and her sister Rosemary Strothkamp. Alice was a mother first and foremost, she especially enjoyed her family, her children and her grandchildren. Alice enjoyed gardening and was a Master Gardener for Miami County, KS. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Osawatomie, KS and was an active Ursuline Associate with the Ursuline Convent of Paola, KS. She also was a dedicated volunteer for the church, youth, and civic organizations. Alice was also a realtor for Eugene D. Brown of Overland Park, KS, retiring in 1995.
